Dr. Grace Hazeltine

Dr. Grace E. Hazeltine, Ph.D.

I tend to work best with people who prefer someone straight-forward, warm, and participatory. If you don’t know what kind of therapeutic fit would be best for you, that’s okay, too. A phone conversation is usually a good starting place to find out whether we’d have success working together.

I’m a licensed psychologist (CA PSY33148) who practices with adults, adolescents, and couples. I enjoy working with people with diverse identities and concerns in life. If you’d like to learn more about me as a potential therapist for you or a loved one, I recommend giving me a call or reading what I have written on this blog.

In addition to practicing as a psychologist, I enjoy teaching, mentoring students in the dissertation process, and non-profit work. I am the current President and Chair of continuing education for Wright Institute Los Angeles’s Alumni Board, where I trained in psychoanalytic psychotherapy and act as a clinical supervisor to therapists in training. Another volunteer position I hold is as Co-chair of the committee responsible for hosting Los Angeles County Psychological Association’s psychotherapist-as-artist virtual gallery, Mirrors of the Mind. I am also a faculty member at Reiss-Davis Graduate School, educating students pursuing a doctorate of psychology in psychodynamic child and family psychotherapy.

I have a background in experimental psychology and neuroscience from Grinnell College. Before becoming a psychologist I was a Coro Fellow in Public Affairs and a business management consultant. I am passionate about exploring and protecting the natural world, laughing, and experiential learning.
